Today I’m charting a course for Bloomington, Indiana. It’s a place I’ve lived before:
Places (chronological order)
- Columbus, Indiana
- St. Louis, Missouri
- Göttingen, Germany
- Bloomington, Indiana
- Xi’an, Shaanxi Province
- Rochester, New York
- Ann Arbor, Michigan
- Madison, South Dakota
- Pierre, South Dakota
- Kerrville, Texas
I’m not sure if I will head for Bloomington before Election Day, which falls on Nov. 6. Early voting in Texas starts on Oct. 22. I received my voter registration card in the mail today.
In any case, my landlady here in Kerrville texted me to say that she will have to retain the deposit I made on my rent. That’s because I’ll be ending my six-month lease after only two months. I’ll be forfeiting $300.
On the other side of the ledger is the prospect of living in the same city as my lovely bride of 29 years, after a long while apart. On balance, I will come out way ahead.
